Taking Card Payments In Person

Use Stripe Terminal readers to collect payment at checkout without sending a payment link.

Before You Start

• Your shop owner has enabled Terminal Plus.
• A reader is registered and online.
• You are signed in to your Bloomber portal.

Collect Payment

1. Open the appointment.
2. Select Collect Payment.
3. Pick the reader assigned to your station (or a shared reader).
4. Confirm service total and optional tip.
5. Ask the client to tap, insert, or swipe card on the reader.
6. Wait for confirmation before closing the appointment.

If Payment Fails

• Try a second card.
• Confirm the reader is still online.
• Cancel the reader action and retry from the appointment.

Late-Day Reconciliation

• Keep payment status polling open until each checkout resolves.
• If a transaction looks stuck, notify the shop owner to run terminal reconciliation.

Best Practices

• Label readers by station so you choose the correct device quickly.
• Keep reader batteries charged between high-traffic windows.
• Use clear client-facing prompts when card retry is needed.
